Research suggests that the average office worker in the UK spends 24 hours a week sitting at their desk without getting up. When this is the case, it is no surprise that for many people, back and neck pain is an inevitable part of working life.
Manchester-based telecoms business BCH Solutions, who specialises in creating innovative call-handling solutions, has recently moved into its brand new offices, overlooking the Manchester city skyline. When furnishing their new office, instead of going for the classic style desks and chairs, the management have focused on the idea of providing their employees a flexible and dynamic working environment that would support their health and well-being, as well as their productivity.
The company has invested in new office furniture from European Furniture Group (EFG) that is modern, ergonomic and comfortable, equipped with lumber supported chairs and desks with lifting and dropping mechanisms to allow people to stand up while working. Mark Drury, BCH Solutions, Managing Director said; “I wanted to create a dynamic working environment to encourage innovative thinking, boost productivity and well-being amongst the team. The new office and dynamic working environment has been a great way in attracting key talent for our organisation as the company continues to grow. It has also helped in retaining our staff, which has greatly improved morale over the last few months”.
The new BCH Solutions office also includes a whiteboard walled room, which encourages creativity and hosts many brainstorming sessions. These innovative office solutions have proved to increase the efficiency in the workplace and have resulted in a more motivated team of employees.
